About this event:
NORTH, the very first Nordic gastronomy festival in New York City, will take place this fall, from October 2 through October 7, at the International Culinary Institute in SoHo.
NORTH features cooking classes at the International Culinary Institute where the attendees will learn how to prepare classic Nordic dishes, as well as master classes where participants will be given the opportunity to watch star chefs prepare their signature dishes while sharing their thoughts on Nordic culinary heritage and influences. In addition to local Nordic chefs, several world famous chefs from the Nordic region will be participating in NORTH, giving people the opportunity to taste and learn about Nordic cuisine from some of the best Nordic chefs in the world.
Participating chefs and restaurants include Marcus Jernmark (Aquavit), Mads Refslund (Acme), Fredrik Berselius (Aska), Carl Kristian Fredriksen (Aamanns Copenhagen), Matt Orlando (Amass), Esben Holmboe Bang (Maaemo), Sasu Laukkonen (Chef et Sommelier), Gunnar Karl Gislason (DILL), Gustav Trädgårdh (Restaurant Sjömagasinet) and Frode Selvaag (Ryfylkekokken).
The festival is a partnership between Honest Cooking Magazine, Restaurant Aquavit and the International Culinary Institute in NYC.
