Phil Gallo is an entertainment journalist who writes about music, television, theater and film in addition to food and wine. He spent 15 years as associate editor of Variety, where he oversaw coverage of the music industry and reviews of TV, concerts, Southern California theater and Las Vegas entertainment. Previously, he was entertainment editor at the Daily News of Los Angeles, the Press-Enterprise of Riverside, Calif., and the New Haven Register in Connecticut.
Gallo, an avid home cook and wine enthusiast, has written about food and wine for the Los Angeles Times, Bon Appetit and Variety. His first book, "Record Store Days: From Vinyl to Digital and Back Again," was published in April by Sterling Publishers.
