That vicarious travel must be at the heart of your readership. It certainly is for me. Getting the meal right in terms of number of dishes, the recipes themselves, serving style, and even how to eat them becomes demanding, even stressful. My favorite imbroglio is the book where the author tells you that seven dish meals are the norm, does not provide menus of such, and then tells you to serve it with rice or bread or one, some other side dish. Cannot tell you how much work is involved in then putting the meal together.
